Fartlek - translates to “speed play” in Swedish, it is similar to interval training but you don't have to look at your watch! It involves varying your pace or riding difficult terrain during an endurance ride.

Julian has been racing and riding off-road since 1989 (yes, that's a long time ago) and Charles likewise. Charles is a British Cycling Level 2 coach.
Meet at the Giro Cafe in Esher for a coffee and a bun and then head in to Surrey,
Date: Next ride Wednesday 5th October
Start Location: Giro Cafe, 2 High St, Esher KT10 9RT
Meet time: 8:00 for 8:30 start
Ride Duration: 3.5-4 hours with a coffee stop mid way
Finish around 12:30pm back at the Giro Cafe
What to bring:
- Your bike (serviced and in good condition)
- Wet weather and warm gear if needed
- Tubeless repair kit and/or spare tubes
