For the U.P.P.E.R., the designers of OPEN did not limit themselves to adapting a bit the successful U.P. model, but they redesigned the frame and its carbon layers entyrely to be able to improve its lightness and rigidity even more. They managed to save 160g on the frame and 20g on the fork. Therefore, the frame only weighs 880g and the fork 370g.
Other examples of the benefits offered are the internal wiring, the possibility of mounting disc brakes and to attach bottles or luggage in the upper tube and the indication of minimum insertion in the seat tube (not only in the seatpost).
